Overview
Luna first meets Harry on the Hogwarts Express before his fifth year. She is comfortable expressing beliefs that other students find strange. The novels distinguish her generosity and insight from the truth of every claim she makes: respecting Luna as a character does not require treating all her father’s theories as confirmed facts.

This entry distinguishes what the story establishes from what a character believes. For context, read the named chapters rather than relying on an isolated statement. A film scene, game mechanic or fan theory is not evidence that the same event occurs in the novels.
